What is ‘EXPOSURE’?

EXPOSURE is an immersive, multi-discilplinary exhibition and installation made by film maker and painter Andy Metcalf and musician, sound artist and photographer Giles Perring. EXPOSURE in Scotland between 2021 and 2022, and will show across two spaces in Brighton in April 2023.

Associates in the project include EXPOSURE’s creative producer, Kirsty Law of Helm Arts., who alongside her role in staging the exhibition, appears as the narrator in ‘Notes on a Piano’, the final episode of the show’s film sequence. Meanwhile, architect Paddy Perring produced the design for the octagonal Henge’, which provides a discrete space for the ‘Sounds Off’ paintings which Andy made in response to the ‘World Organ’ soundscape.

In response to the excitement generated by the installation of EXPOSURE at Hulabhaig, Baile Na Cille, Uig, Isle of Lewis in July 2021, we commissioned Douglas Cape of z360 to create a virtual panoramic tour of the show. It’s completed by a representation of the original quadraphonic soundscape, which pans as you rotate the images.
